CGP Alumni Network – Engaging Global Minds

E
ver since the CGP was founded in 2007, we have put a strong emphasis on establishing and maintaining contact and networks between our students, graduates and teachers. Our alumni network connects graduates in over 36 countries and helps our students to build a professional network. To strengthen the bonds between our alumni, we created the alumni forum on www.global-politics.org. We also publish our bi-annual alumni newsletter and organize the annual alumni workshop series. In 2011, we supported the establishment of the CGP Alumni Association e.V. Additionally, the alumni yearbook is another cornerstone of our international alumni network.

To any keen observer it becomes evident that the complexity of contemporary politics– especially global politics – is constantly increasing. New actors mean new possibilities emerge, but new threats and new issues as well. Decision-makers and societies are faced with an ever-growing number of issues such as financial crisis, environmental degradation, and conflict.

To face these challenges, today’s world needs expertise and knowledge. In labor markets, the demand for well-educated, young professionals with international experiences and an interest to think outside the box is very high. The Center for Global Politics provides its students with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate an ever-more complex world. Nevertheless, there are significant aspects that a study program cannot provide without a well-established student and alumni community. This community is a well-functioning, sustainable network among aspiring professionals in the field of global politics. International networks like ours offer the opportunity for open debates on a wide range of perspectives. One can also introduce project ideas to people in 36 countries and establish professional ties with a common denominator – the CGP.
