News from Jan 20, 2017
On January 20th, Donald Trump will be inaugurated to be the 45th president of the United States of America. During his campaign he has already sparked the debate with controversial comments on various policy areas. Given these circumstances, will the European Union and the US still share the same norms and values when it comes to transatlantic cooperation? How will this new president affect alliances like NATO and what is ahead for international trade? Will the US, how Donald Trump promised, focus more on itself and will there be a new isolationism?
Prof. Segbers will address these questions in his lecture at the “Bisdorfer Gespräche” on January 23rd 2017, at 7 pm. Prof. Dr. Klaus Segbers holds the Chair of Eastern European Studies at the Otto-Suhr-Institute at the Free University of Berlin and is the Director of the Center for Global Politics.
