The first Global Politics Seasonal School for 2018 is jointly hosted by the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Paññasasstra University of Cambodia, University of Social Sciences and Humanities of VNU-Hanoi and the Center for Global Politics of Freie Universität Berlin. It takes place March 19-28, 2018, in Cambodia, under the guiding theme “The Rise of Populism: A Threat to Global System?”. The program offers 27 participants from Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Nepal and México to jointly look at current challenges for the global system as we know it and asks what consequences the rise of populism on the global scale brings.
Today, March 19, marks the beginning of yet another exciting seasonal school, during which participants have the opportunity to get a detailed understanding of the program and its requirements. The methodological workshop by the program coordinator was followed by the introductory module by Prof. Klaus Segbers on the topic “New Approaches to Global Politics”. The first day of GPSS Cambodia 2018 will end with the welcome dinner at Hops Brewery and Craft Beer Garden.
