New Graduate School of Global Politics

The DAAD will support a new German-Chinese PhD-program by Freie Universität and Fudan University. The Graduate School of Global Politics is a three year integrated program leading to a double degree of both universities.
Our concept of a Graduate School of Global Politics has won the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the biggest German funding institution for international cooperation in higher education.
The program integrates a comprehensive study program, research stays in China and Germany, as well as intensive tutoring for individual research. First students can be admitted in 2009. If you would like to get more information about the program, please refer to Ole Jantschek

Transatlantic Relations in Times of Globalization
The foreign and security policy adviser to Chancellor Angela Merkel, Christoph Heusgen, will give a lecture at John F. Kennedy Institute of Freie Universität Berlin on November 27. The title of the lecture is "The Importance of Transatlantic Relations in the Age of Globalization." The event is open to the pubilc and free of charge. The lecture will be given in English.

This week, the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies holds its annual national convention in Boston. Klaus Segbers will chair a round table on "The Role of Individuals: Assessing the Impact of Persons from Different Disciplinary Positions".
