Admission

The Global Politics Summer School Syria 2008 will cover a wide range of international issues and participants will be expected to work across a multitude of IR related fields. Our competitive selection process ensures a high quality academic atmosphere, and will include 20 program participants. In addition to an outstanding academic record, and strong analytical skills, candidates should possess a demonstrated interest in pursuing an internationally oriented career. Students will be selected jointly by Freie Universität Berlin and the Arab International University.

 Applicants to this program must be postgraduate and hold a first academic degree (B.A. or equivalent), preferably obtained in humanities or social sciences, including law and economics. In addition, participants need to be fluent in English.

Applicants should provide the following:

• statement of purpose outlining the relevance of participation in the summer school for the student's academic development and career (300 words);
• certificate of a relevant academic degree (B.A. or equivalent);
• other relevant documents e.g. English language diploma;
• Curriculum Vitae (CV).

Tuition fees amount to 50 €. This does not include costs arising from in-house periods (travel expenses, room and board).
