Faculty workshop in Ukraine funded
The Center for Global Politics is pleased to announce that it has received funding from the DAAD for a faculty workshop in Ukraine.
News from Dec 14, 2015
Earlier this year the Center for Global Politics (CGP) applied for funding from the German Academic Exchange Service also known as the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) to conduct a faculty workshop in Ukraine. The CGP is pleased to announce that last week DAAD funding was approved, and as such this faculty workshop will go ahead next year.
The workshop itself will be held in partnership with the Ukrainian Catholic University in the city of Lviv, located in the country’s west. It will be open to PhD students, as well as post-doctoral students from Ukrainian universities and from the Freie Universität Berlin. The actual topics of the workshop will be current trends in International Relations/global politics, and options for joint curricular developments. The workshop itself will be likely held in May 2016, and will run over the course of 10 days.
Given the current highly volatile political context of Ukraine’s attempts to move forward with its modernization, we are glad that we can contribute our own academic experiences, and work with about 20 highly qualified young specialists and instructors from western, eastern and central Ukrainian universities.
