The GSGP is pleased to announce that has been awarded funding for a number of scholarship positions from the DAAD Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP) in the coming years.
News from Aug 04, 2016
Following a successful application, the Graduate School of Global Politcs (GSGP) at the Center for Global Politics (CGP) was selected by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) to nominate and host up to 4 international PhD students in 2017 and 2018.
Two applicants each year can apply, so long as they have not been living in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application.
The selection of the candidates will be conducted through a multi-stage process involving both the GSGP and the DAAD. The final selection itself will be made by the DAAD, following which successful candidates will then be brought into the fold of the Graduate School.
As this is a scholarship position, selection will be very competitive and applicants will be judged on the relative quality of their proposals, as well as other factors.
“This new funding will help the CGP to continue to attract high-level researchers who themselves will benefit from the Graduate School’s knowledge and expertise,” said GSGP Senior Program Manager Sandra Rector.
Those who are successful in their scholarship application will be offered a full PhD scholarship, financed by the GSSP programme of the DAAD. The DAAD offers monthly grants of about €1,000 including health and liability insurance, as well as travel and research allowances.
Each DAAD scholarship in this programme will allow for funding for up to three years, or up to four years for applicants coming from countries designated as ‘developing’ or ‘emerging’. DAAD scholarship holders will be identified through a two-step procedure.
