The Center for Global Politics is happy to be back to Amman with their 6th joint Global Politics Fall School Jordan.

News from Sep 30, 2017

This year’s school revolves all around the guiding theme “Cities in Global Times: Perspectives from the MENA Region and Europe”. Once again, CGP invited lecturers from Jordan and Germany to jointly discuss current hot topics, this year with a focus on Global Cities.

In the upcoming ten days, 22 participants from Jordan, Palestine, Iraq, Sudan, Italy and Germany are coming together to engage into topics like “Opportunities and Challenges in the EU and the MENA region”, “The role of Global Cities in times of global migration – the examples of Amman and Berlin”, “Urban Spaces and Governance of Global Cities” and “Populism in Europe and the Arab World”.

The academic program is accompanied by a diverse supporting program that includes a city tour, a trip to Wadi Al Mujab, a talk by GJU’s renowned professor Sahar Al-Makhamreh about the situation of refugees in Jordan and a panel discussion on the topic of “The role of Global Cities in times of global migration”.

The fall school is kindly funded by DAAD and the Heinrich Böll Foundation Palestine & Jordan.
