The Center for Global Politics(CGP) is a European response to the challenges and opportunities brought about by globalization. In an environment characterized by increasing opportunities and uncertainties the program’s new and innovative concepts provide participants with a context and the orientation in which to pursue a research-oriented career. This progressive and finely tuned study program has been created by international scholars and practitioners and is designed to meet the growing need for lifelong learning.
In this context, in a joint German-Chinese venture by the Freie Universität Berlin and four renowned Chinese partner universities - Jinan University (JNU) in Guangzhou, Renmin University (RUC) in Beijing, and Fudan University and the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS), both located in Shanghai -, the Center for Global Politics at FU Berlin organized the first PhD program in the social sciences. This three-year PhD program gives students the chance to ensure that their time as a doctoral student is not only interdisciplinary, but also truly international.
At the GSGP participants receive:
